NVDA snapshot 4138
NVDA 2011.1

TAB to login button and ENTER.
Actual: ARROWS and Elements list don't do anything. TAB and SHIFT+TAB goes between remember password submenu and remember password button.
Must ALT+TAB to a different application, ALT+TAB back to Firefox, then TAB and SHIFT+TAB. At which point, NVDA focus is in document and arrows, elements list, and tab work.
Expected:No need for work-around. Arrows, Elements list, and TAB to work.

This is not a unique issue to this specific page, but occurs on many pages, which require login. I use three other sites very frequently, which have this same very issue.

This is due to the new notification system in Firefox 4. The notification receives focus when it appears. You must then press escape or f6 to dismiss it. It's better to use f6, as escape doesn't return focus to the document properly.

The accessibility of these notifications is certainly unintuitive/broken and this is something that needs to be fixed in Firefox. See MozillaBug:616136.

Thanks for providing tip on F6. It's much moreefficient than switching tabs, switching applications, and sometimes having to TAB and SHIFT+TAB.

Glad that I am not only one to find the accessibility of new Firefox 4 notifications to be unintuitive

And, glad that both NVAccess and Mozilla are aware of issue.

This is not the case anymore with Firefox 54.0.1.
