In some language, the ponctuation it separate of the word. This the case in french with question or exclamation mark. In new speech branch, the ponctuation isn't treated with a space before.

Can you please elaborate? Provide an example sentence and explain what isn't working. This is probably something that needs to be fixed in the French symbol data.

Good application of the intonation: "Did you leave home? I'm steal here!" Bad execution of the intonation: "Did you leave home ? I'm steal here !"

So what is the rule in French? What symbols are separated from the word and what symbols aren't?

Some punctuations in french are preceded by a space.
I did not notice it made any problem.
In can fix the french symbols.dic, but I don't know how to specify 2 consecutive characters for phrase ending or sentence ending.
Could Jamie provide an example?

The main punctuation characters precede by a space:

? Question mark
! Exclamation mark
; Semi-colon
: Colon
… Suspension points
« Open quotation mark
» Unquote

Note: sometimes the dash can be follow by a space:

  • My name is Bond.

The problem should be fixed with Rev 4229 in main branch.
