Espeak reads incorrectly numbers, or pieces of numbers, that in Spanish must be pronnounced with the conjunction "y" (and): pieces of numbers that begin with 1 and finish with 9. For instance:

  • 21 is read as "veintuno", but the correct pronunciation is "veintiuno".
  • 33 is read as "treintatrés", but the right pronunciation is "treinta y tres".

A new version of eSpeak, 0.45.04 is available:
http://espeak.sourceforge.net/download.html
Could this release be used with NVDA 2011.2? Thanks.

I don't know because I can't test Espeak. I'm not able to build Espeak dll for NVDA. But I think that this Espeak version could fix this ticket, because of this e-mail sent to NVDA Developers List:
"

Just tested with eSpeak 145.31, switching between french and spanish and found no problem with numbers.

Jonathan noted that it is fixed in development builds. However, I doubt this fix made it into 1.45.04 (which was released some time ago).

Can you please test with SAPI5 eSpeak 1.45.04?

I have tested with this Espeak release, and unfortunately version 1.45.04 can't fix this ticket. Thanks.

Juan says that this problem no longer exists.
Thanks.
