With the recent addition of automatic updates, a change was also introduced where by the installation directory will automatically be moved to the Program Files directory if the user chose to install NVDA into a different location.
During installation, it could be advisable to alert the user as to whether the installation directory is going to be changed; at the moment, this information is only in the Changes document. If NVDA is moved into a different folder, this could potentially cause confusion later on.

Yes, exactly what is the reason for a fixed installation location? Many installers look at old versions and have a custom checkbox and if its checked allow installation at a user specified location but others simply display the place decided upon, and have a browse button or edit field to add a path.
