Not all screenreaders do this by default. I guess it could be useful as an enhancement for editing documents you do not create yourself. Need to be careful about verbosity though

replace the winword.py file in the path nvda\source\NVDAobjects\window.
have made few changes in the file.now it is announcing the tab in the MS word.
please check and verify.

Replace the newly attached winword2.py file from nvda\source\NVDAobjects\window,
i have made changes in the script now announcing of tab is working correctly, please verify and let me know.

I believe NVDA announces the measurement of distance of tab now in Microsoft Word. Just tested in Microsoft Word 2016. Still, it would be interesting to know if these attachments are still needed. CC @feerrenrut

I have added the attachments to this ticket.

I wote for closing as worksforme. You get the needed information by pressing NVDA+delete or by inserting tabs. Tested with Word 2013.

Apart from pressing nvda+del, you can also enable "line indentation" in nvda settings and you will get coresponding information when navigating through the text. Closing as works for me because there are several ways to get tab distances in NVDA.
