i was reading a web page when nvda crashed. it crashed at 9:06 pm on saturday june 16. i then investigated on my own and found that nvda slave.exe is not compatible with win 8 release preview. also when investigating i found that my windows event viewer recorded an event id of 439 i then rebooted and it occured again i am using windows 8 release preview on a hp pavillion p6774y pc i did virus scans and checked for disk errors and all came back fine.

Do you still experiencing this? Do someone else experiencing this?
Or it was fixed? Or it was do to the alpha state of Windows 8 on the time of this report?

Hi Paul,
Does this still occur when you use Windows 8.x with NVDA 2015.1? If not, let's close this ticket.
Technical: according to MSDN forums, the exception shown in the log fragment (see the attachment) has to do with failing to call a function regarding hooks. I expect later versions of NVDA should have fixed this problem, especially now that we're using a more up to date MinHook module.
