There is a convention that self extracting should put the files in a folder otherwise you can end up with a load of files in the place you select. This just happened to me with the portable exe dumping loads of files on my desktop.
However I realise this makes extracting to a stick slightly harder as the files must be in the drive root.
So I suggest which ever way you do it a warning should be provided.

Actually there is probably not reason the files cannot all be in a folder along with a single file to launch NVDA. That's a lot less nasty to extract to the desktop.

This ticket can be closed as fixed because the older self extracting portable archive has now been replaced with the launcher
