On some webpages, browse mode is not working. Switching with NVDA+Space does not show any reaction. Concerns both Internet Explorer and Firefox.

Example1 (German)
https://www.radioeins.de/themen/musik/playlists.html
Example2 (probably works only if registered)
https://paperc.com/library/favorites

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Go to example link.
  2. Navigate with arrow keys to read non-link text, type navigation keys (h, n, etc.) which will open search bar. Type NVDA+Space to switch to BrowseMode.

LogFile does not give any error message even in Debug mode, except some Vocalizer error.

DEBUGWARNING - ......Users.MyUsername.AppData.Roaming.nvda.addons.vocalizer-driver.synthDrivers.vocalizer._vocalizer.stop (17:22:39):
Wrong state when stopping vocalizer

Something tells me those sites are using roll application improperly... if I'm right, then take a look at #2023

I fear its getting more widespread, and the problem is that a lot of these sites are not going to alter their practices, no matter how wrong they may be. The fact is that I think nvda will have to have a work around. To me its obvious that application means like a gateway to an app, but to the web designer he/she seems to call anything different an app, even if its buuilt in html. You almost need a shell approach where a page within a page can be an app.

Replying to Druify:

Example1 (German)

https://www.radioeins.de/themen/musik/playlists.html

This one is just plain broken. They're setting a role of tablist on the body, which should only ever be document or application.

Example2 (probably works only if registered)

Most of the page seemed to be a normal document, though I didn't register. I did see an application in there, so #2023 (now fixed) will probably be useful here.
