If you go to install an update with IE or any other app open, nvda will hang at the downloading update screen. It will download the update and not install it. Closing all apps and retrying doesn't fix the issue, only a reboot does.

I pretty much always install udpates with other apps open and haven't ever experienced this. Can anyone else reproduce it?

Can you be more specific about what actually happens? That is, does NVDA freeze? Does the dialog come up saying NVDA will install the update just before it restarts? A log file with level at input/output may help.

Of course when I go to report this it randomly starts working, the next time this happens I'll attach a log.

The original reporter is now out-of-reach, seems not to have experienced this issue again because no corresponding log has been attached as promised in #3386 (comment), and no one else seems to be able to replicate this. Thus, I suggest closing. @ehollig

Closing, as the reported issue does not occur anymore and no one, not even the original poster, can replicate it.
