Hello.
This accurs in some applications like PeaZip.
Steps to reproduce:
Open PeaZip
Change application language to Russian, for example
Try to access the menu bar and navigate the menus.
Expacted result: all text should be read correctly.
Actual result: some menu items are read as if the text is in a wrong encoding, but when pressing NVDA+Ctrl+F2 everything is read correctly.
Testid on Windows 7 64-bit with a 64-bit version of PeaZip. The system language is Russian.
Thanks.

Please give exact examples of items which are read incorrectly and how they should be read, as the core developers don't speak Russian.

Replying to jteh:

I changed system locale to English. The following is read incorrectly:
The first menu bar item is a file menu. it is "Файл" in Russian, but i get "Файл".
IN the file menu the first item is "Создать архив" ( Create archive), but NVDA reads "Создать архив".
The name of the edit menu is correctly read as "Правка", but again almost all of its items are reported in a wrong encoding which depends on the system locale.
NVDA+Ctrl+F2 reports all text correctly.
This can be reproduced with any language that uses non-ASCII characters.
This ticket looks abandoned, has anything like this been seen during the last three years? I will close this issue around this time next week if we don't get any response.
