Comment 3 by surfer0627 on 2014-09-23 02:41 Yes, the problem is that I did not install the drivers. After installing Microsoft .NET Framework, the issue (Failed to extract the installer for FSBrlDriver64.) has been fixed. Now, the PAC Mate braille display could work with my Windows 7 computer. Sorry, I realized that this isn't a NVDA issue. It is a driver installation issue. |

Comment 6 by surfer0627 on 2014-10-03 01:09 I'm not sure which version is requested. My friend said that his computer installed 4.5.1. My computer installed 4.5.1 and other version (1.0). |
Honestly, I think that documenting system requirements for a driver is the responsibility of the driver vendor, Freedom Scientific. Unless @jcsteh still feels we should document this, I lean towards closing this. |
You're absolutely right that the responsibility of documenting this should rest with the vendor. However, as with many things, it doesn't matter whose responsibility it is if users keep coming to us with the problem. In the absence of the right people taking responsibility, we want to reduce the support load on NV Access and our community, and if including a sentence in our User Guide can do that, it's a small price to pay. :)

note to @bramd: please let the github magic close this issue when you've been able to finish your fs native driver. |
Braille output and wizWheels are working. Tested on a Focus 40 blue Freedom Scientific braille displays are now supported by braille display auto detection (#7727) When an auto detected braille display is connected via Bluetooth, NVDA will keep searching for USB displays supported by the same driver and switch to a USB connection if it becomes available The bumper keys now work correctly on Freedom Scientific braille displays (#8849) Co-Authored-By: Leonard de Ruijter <leonardder@users.noreply.github.com> fixes #7727 fixes #4464 fixes #8849 fixes #8729

In the operating system windows 7 (64bit), I installed FocusBlueDriver1.0.2030 for PAC Mate, and got error message:
Failed to extract the installer for FSBrlDriver64.
Then I try to install jaws (15.0.11024ENU-64bit.exe).
After that, braille display could show message:
pm display 20 3.70
If I open jaws, and the display could work on.
But I could not find and select freedomScientific in the braille settings.
I got message from NVDA log file:
Braille display driver freedomScientific reports as unavailable.
