when using eti eloquence under the name true voice as a synthesizer, in preferences\voices, the o k button doesn't activate with enter or spacebar or mouse. therefore you cant change any settings.

Eloquence is not supported by NVDA, and the way you are using It is ilegal, so that NVDA cannot help you with this.

This is a bug in the add-on you are using. In any case, using Eloquence with NVDA is illegal as explained in this post and you should therefore not use it.

the attached file is even on the Microsoft site as a free voice. it's an open voice so it should work with n v d a. it worked fine up to 2014 .2 it's called true voice in it's installation.

Removed labels: invalid
State: reopened

TruVoice and Eloquence are two entirely different things. TruVoice is a Microsoft Speech API version 4 synthesiser, so you need to set NVDA to use that synthesiser. It sounds quite different to Eloquence. What is your synthesiser set to in NVDA's Synthesizer dialog?

Could it just be that in this version of Windows Sapi 4 has issues generally?
Cannot test here.
As mentioned though, True voice is not Eloquence. It might be instructive to find out where this package came from as its probably the synth add on which is the issue. As also mentioned, Eloquence is not leagal, so cannot comment on that, but if it affects other Sapi 4 voices as well then it might be a problem.

Given the age of this issue, our inability to contact the original author of this ticket for further information, the fact that SAPI 4 is fading into obscurity, and Eloquence, one of the two voices with which the reported issue was claimed to be applicable, is illegal and unsupported, I suggest closing. @ehollig

Closing, as we are unable to contact the original poster for more information, and I am unable to find a link to download this True Voice synthesizer from Microsoft.
