I first installed v3.11 which successfully worked in XP and when the service started it crashed.
Then I tried the latest of October and in addition to it, Windows couldn't start. When riching the logon screen it keeped restarting!!!!
I'M using 7 ultimate 32 bit and the latest stable release of NVDA (2009.1). May be done something for fixing it?

You have to install BRLTTY without the libusb-win32 filter on Windows 7 and Vista. This means you must use either the libusb-win32 driver or set up BRLTTY to use the serial emulation provided by the manufacturer's driver. I'm leaving this open so we remember to get the BRLTTY devs to change the message in the installer to indicate this. Currently, it mentions Windows 64 bit, but not Vista/7.

OK.
So, once there is a USB driver in it, for what is the USB filter?

The filter is useful for USB devices if you have already installed
drivers from your manufacturer for your USB device and do not want to
replace it with the libusb-win32 driver.

I haven't uploaded one, the change (just adding "Vista/7" in the
documentation) is just commited in the subversion repository.

I think this ticket can be closed as the BRLTTY installer Version 4.2-2 notifies the user to not install the lib usb win filter on windows vista/7.
