In liblouis, there is now an official 6 dot braille table for Finnish. Its file name is fi.utb. The current 8 dot braille table should be preserved as an option.

Is this 6 dot table a computer braille table or an uncontracted table? To put it another way, does it simply map single characters to single braille cells or is it more complicated than that? It looks like it's more complicated, so I'd say this probably isn't a computer braille table. If this is so, this also means it can't be used for braille input at this stage, only output.

I think it's not a computer braille table.

So does the braille code have a name? Can we call it Finnish grade 1, Finnish uncontracted, etc.? Or is there only one official Finnish braille code?

As far as I know, this is the only official braille code used in Finland, but most of the braille users including me prefer the unofficial 8dots one.

I'm not quite sure what to call this table. Maybe "Finnish official 6 dots braille code"?
