To reproduce this problem, do the following steps:

  1. Go to the Firefox location bar or an edit box in the virtual buffer (E.G. the search box in Google).
  2. Type something, then try to select it with shift+home. Then, delete the selected text.
  3. Now, type something E.G. the character "h". You will hear, "unselected h".

Hi,
Cannot reproduce this in Firefox 37 with NVDA 2015.1. When I do as you reported, NVDA does not announce unselected. If others can confirm that it is fixed, then let's close this ticket. Thanks.

This has been fixed on its own somewhere along the line. Thanks a lot for following up with it!

Hi,
Thanks for confirming. Please reopen if this happens in a future version of Firefox or nVDA. Thanks.
