Comment 4 by tmatthews (in reply to comment 3) on 2010-11-20 08:10 Here's a small thing I found out with AIM 7, especially with the latest version of aim, v7.4: If you press NVDA-B to read the entire dialog of the screen, NVDA will read what's in the AIM colors themes menu. For example, dark, pink, etc. Replying to jteh: |

Comment 7 by trenton on 2012-04-11 22:48 I just wanted to share the latest happenings with AIM. I haven't tried out AOL 9.7 yet, so I'll post a follow-up comment on the matter when I get around to looking at it. The "latest" version that is accessible, is v7.5.12.6, released on March 5, 2012. That one can be found here: Just wanted to pass along the information above, in case someone is using AOL Instant Messenger currently. |

Currently, within A I M 6, 7, and later, you have to use NVDA's object navigation, to successfully traverse around the menus.
And although it does work to a fashion , its time consuming for most users.
Menus that do not work with this method include the change status menu, and the file transfer menu while in a message.
This has been reported to NVDA devs, however wasn't made in to an actual ticket.
Thus, I created this one!
Proud to say, that NVDA does work with the AIM buddy list, the message window when you are writing/voicing, and the option screen, (f7 key in main A I M screen,) works nicely as well while tabbing around.
