Hello, I suggest to improve the function NVDA + F for the announcement of document formatting.
Currently, this function only listing the name, size, font attributes, the alignments of the text, the text style.

It is interesting that this feature listing more information about the formatting of documents. For example:

  • The announcement of the color of the character pointed by the cursor application,
  • The announcement of the withdrawal of first lines and other withdrawals,
  • The announcement of the borders and the color of these borders,
  • The announcement of shading and color shading,
  • The announcement of interlining
  • The announcement of the spacing between characters.

I know this is hard work and time. It is very important to have access to new information.

Please note that even once we enhance NVDA's core code to handle this, this information is often not exposed to us by applications. If the application doesn't expose the information to us programmatically, we can't report it to the user. OpenOffice.org is a classic example, as it doesn't even expose the font name correctly at present.
Changes:
Changed title from "Added information for formatting of document (NVDA + F)" to "Support additional text formatting information"
Milestone changed from 2010.2 to None

Please don't change the milestone if one of the developers has already set it. The final decision about when a feature gets implemented is ours, since we're the ones implementing it.
