There have been many discussions about this feature on the NVDA and nvda-dev lists. I and other developers are reluctant to add this feature as it in some cases would be providing false information and security for the user. Many screen readers that announce messages when copying, cutting and pasting are only announcing messages because particular keys were pressed, as far as I am aware, they do not check to see if the action actually happened. So in many cases the screen reader might say "coppied selected text to clipboard" but perhaps in a particular situation the application didn't let you do that... the screen reader has lyed then. I would much prefer that users become much more trusting of their own actions, and double check things as they go. Note that we do say "copied to clipboard" in the new virtualBuffers and other places where cursor manager is used as we are well aware the action happened because NVDA actually did the copy itself. But in other places NVDA has no way of knowing if it worked or not.
