As you are about to release 0.6p3, you may want to know that this is not solved up to revision 2574.

Whenever I alt-tab to Lotus Notes, it simply stops speaking, yet continues recording informations in NVDA.log, that I have attached yesterday for info.

Please try with a recent snapshot. There have been several major changes to event handling which may affect this issue.

If it still freezes, rather than killing NVDA immediately, please wait for up to two minutes. If NVDA comes back to life during that time, we may have osme idea of the cause.

This cannot be fixed in 0.6 without more information and testing. Since none of the core developers has access to this product, a user will need to test this thoroughly with new snapshots and report results.
Changes:
Milestone changed from 0.6 to None

I have just tested Lotus Notes plus NVDA from Bazaar's lessFreezing branch. When I focus the messages list panel, NVDA freezes for some seconds (about ten I think). During this time, pressing any key have no effect. NVDA then srarts repeating the control name and type, e.g. "Inbox Lotus Notes tree view". Pressing the control key doesn't initially have effect, but after NVDA has spoken four or five times, control stops it.

From that moment on, I can move around in the message list and ear all messages informations normally. When I leave the list and return, either by opening and closing a message or tabbing to other application and tabbing back, NVDA behaves the same way as stated above, e.g., freezes for about ten seconds, then comes back.

This time, nvda.log seems to provide more information than at other ocasions. I'll attach it for your info. Some error messages are in the Portuguese language, e.g., 'A chamada foi cancelada pelo filtro de mensagem" means 'The call was canceled by the message filter'

Have tested the snapshot from SVN Trunk, revision 3096 in Lotus Notes. NVDA's behavior is identical to that described in my comment published ten days ago, transcribed from below on.

What exact version of Lotus Notes are you using? If 8.0, is it standard or basic?

Replying to jteh:

Lotus Notes is now IBM Notes I belief. I've done some basic things with it and I don't recall crashes in the messages list, only in a third party application within notes which had a broken a11y implementation anyway.

Closing as worksforme then, but we can reopen if this still persists for some users.

me and my coworkers still have the same problem with windows 10 ibm notes 9 and nvda21.
Lotus freeze, but is not a nvda problem because the windows narrator have the same issue.

I tested it with the version of nvda 2010 from https://sourceforge.net/projects/nvda/files/releases/ and had no problems. the problem is with the newer ones, with the 2014 version if it crashed, something changed between versions that makes lotus crash.
