From Snapshot 3902 A tester says that in MSN2009, when try going to history of messages, NVDA makes the error sound.
I attach the log, this is only a little part, because the user gives me a 78k of log, but I think this is sufficient.

Hopefully fixed by 6ad992a, but I haven't tested this myself. Please test and report.

The italian tester now says that the history problem is solved, but now chat messages are no longer read.
He says, when you are in the chat window, NVDA doesn't read anymore outcoming and incoming chat messages.

I have tested this on a Chinese Windows 7 machine, and the chat history is also not automatically spoken when incoming and outgoing messages are updated. But after installing the English version MSN messenger, the problem no longer persists. So I think this has something to do with the localized language interface of the messenger being used.

Now in more recent snapshots after the 2010.2 release the automatic reading of incoming and outgoing messages seems to have broken even in the English version of Windows Live Messenger; it still works fine in the 2010.2 release but not in the most recent snapshots 3924 and 3925; not sure exactly when it started; I use the source most of the time and noticed it at some point; so something must have happened in one of the revisions following the release that affected it somehow.
